Have Portable Chargers to Free Up Outlet Space
Summary
- Buy extra chargers for multiple phone models to accommodate guests’ needs.
- Invest in power strips with surge protection to maximize outlet space.
- Consider portable chargers as an outlet-free charging option for guests.
If you’re hosting a large group of people for the holidays, it’s especially important to make sure you have an adequate phone charging station. By having ample chargers, power strips, and portable charges, you can make sure none of your guests leave with a dead phone!
First, I stocked up on extra charging cables for guests. I bought older iPhone lightning cables, USB-C cables, and micro USB cables for some Android models.
I ordered some multi-packs from Amazon from brands I’ve used before. For instance, this two-pack of Anker USB-C chargers is a great option for people with newer iPhones and Android models. For only $10, it’s a great deal. Make sure you also pick up some Anker Power Adapters compatible with USB-C ends.
Get Power Strips and Maximize Your Outlet Space
If you live in a place with limited outlets, a power strip is a good investment. This can plug into an outlet and provide six or more spaces to plug in chargers. This GE Power Strip has six extra plugs that can maximize the number of devices you can charge at any given time. Alternatively, this 18 Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip is great for a large gathering.
I also like to opt for a power strip with surge protection, which protects devices from damage that can occur from power surges.
Have Portable Chargers to Free Up Outlet Space
If you’re not keen on power strips or just don’t have many available outlets, you can opt to buy multiple portable chargers instead. You can charge a portable charger before (or during) your holiday event, then offer an outlet-free way of charging to your guests.
The prices of portable charges can range from a few dollars to more than a hundred dollars, so it’s just a matter of how much battery power you’re looking for. My family loves this 20,000mAh Anker Portable Charger which holds enough power to completely charge an iPhone four times.
Portable charges are especially nice to have if your guests want to check their phones frequently but don’t want to leave their devices in a corner or at an inaccessible outlet the entire time.
On top of food, entertainment, and drinks, it’s important to ensure you have enough outlets and chargers for every guest’s phone. This will ensure none of your guests have to leave without access to Google Maps, their contacts, and more!
